Smith Township, which is one of the fourteen townships of Mahoning County, Ohio, United States, was organized in March 1821 upon the petition of Judge William Smith.
The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. The current Fiscal Officer is Audrey Fox.
The Board of Trustees will convene one regular meeting per calender month. The regular meeting shall be held on the first Wednesday of every month at 7:00 P.M..
